Morgan native headed to Nashville for prestigious awards show

Local woman, Wendy Knudsen (also known as Wendy K*) will be making a trip to Nashville for the world’s biggest independent music awards show where she has been nominated in three categories and is up for three awards as a top finalist.

The Josie Music Awards will be held at the Grand Ole Opry House, Oct. 22. Out of 52,000 submissions, Wendy K* was nominated in the following categories:

 1.  Female Songwriter of the Year – Personal Portfolio.

2.  Holiday Song of the Year Co-write, written by Wendy K* and Corey Lee Barker. Vocals, music by Wendy Knudsen.

3. Group Social Impact Song of the Year – Multi Artist song written by Jay Jourden DaBrand, with group vocals by Wendy K*, Revele, Greg Roberts, Snelling Jackson (he’s on the Voice this season – Reba’s team), Kathryn Shipley, and Dee Rock, Margo Buccini.

Wendy K* grew up in Morgan and has been gracing audiences in Morgan as well as around the USA, Canada and the UK with her heartfelt songs and rich warm vocals. She released her first EP album back in 2005 “Light the Way to a Nation,” then in 2006 her next album, “Just Hold On,” and has released two albums after both multi artists albums, one that she produced, and one she co produced, along with some single song releases and now into her fifth album “At this Christmas Time” her long awaited Christmas Album. 

Wendy K* (formerly Lantern Lane Music), has performed with and opened for a variety of artists such as Collin Raye, DanTruman (of Diamond Rio), Osmonds 2nd Generation, Angela Winston, (former Ray Charles Band), Kenneth Cope, Felicia Sorenson, Eric Dodge, Drew Reese, Jay Jourden DaBrand, Kaylie Heywood and more. λ
