Morgan county DUP company installs new officers

New officers of the Morgan County DUP Company were installed in the annual Company meeting on Sept. 13 by Company Parliamentarian Sheryn Burton. The new officers are Claudia Nelson, President, Betty Holman, 1 Vice, Cathy Dinsdale, 2 Vice, Dixie Miller, Secretary, Sandy Carter, Treasurer, Mary Jane Phillips, Registrar, and Sylvia Child, Historian.
Claudia Nelson, President, called the meeting to order and an Invocation was given by Susanne Skeen followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. The opening song was “Utah Pioneers” led by Nell Nickerson and accompanied by Susan Foss.
Mary Jane Phillips gave a brief history of her Pioneer Ancestor, Warriner Ahaz Porter, who was born in Winter Quarters, Nebraska. and lived a very eventful life. He died in Salt Lake City at the age of 84
After the Company sang “Come, Come, Ye Saints”, a lesson on Pioneer Architects and Architecture was given by Sylvia Child. She presented information about the building of the Kirkland Temple and the exterior plaster.
A highlight of the evening was the drawing for the quilt. The winner was Teresa Deru of the Weber River Mountain View Camp.λ
