No One Fights Alone!

Ethan Hoffmann/MCN Intern Reporter

No One Fights Alone is a great opportunity to support those in our community that are suffering from the effects of cancer. Taking place in June, consisting of five events. There’s something for everyone! The 5K, 10K, and the silent auction will be at Riverside Park on Saturday, June 11, at 8a.m. The CrossFit workout will take place on the same day at 6 a.m. at CrossFit Unknown. High Fitness will serve as a prelude to the main event, taking place on Thursday, June 9, at 8 p.m.

According to Bobbi Eddy, the event coordinator, this will be their second year. She says, “When my brother was diagnosed with cancer, the community was so supportive and we wanted a way to give back or pay it forward to others who are fighting cancer in our community.” Last year, No One Fights Alone was able to raise over $7000 and supported 6 families in Morgan County. Her kindness and consideration have blessed many Morgan families and will continue to do so for years to come. As for the present, they hope to do more this year! People can register online by going to their Facebook, No One Fights Alone 5k, or to our Instagram, no_one_fights_alone_5k. The link is in the bio. If you register by May 26, you are guaranteed to recieve a shirt in the size you want. However, you can still register clear up until the starting time of the event. You can even register in person the day of the event; they just can’t guarantee a shirt or the size you want after May 26.

The Silent Auction items will include gift baskets from Grounds for Coffee, Hinds, Red Rock Archery, and more. There will also be a handful of other items thrown into the mix. Prizes such as Mama Lake’s cinnamon rolls, candles, Chick-fil-A gift cards, a patchwork quilt, a travel size camp chef from Bingham’s Custom Meats, a custom orthotics package including a doctor visit and an orthotics fitting from the Mountain View Foot and Ankle Institute, golf packages from Round Valley Golf, and more.

You can donate a silent auction item by contacting Bobbi Eddy at 801-814-4233 or Nanette Brown at 801-814-4231. They are also happy to take donations. They have Venmo as well, Jim-Brown-364. Anyone is welcome to contribute. Come show your support by fighting against cancer and show those that are struggling that they are not alone. “Put the dates in the calendar and take part in the camaraderie that binds our community together. We are Morgan, and Morgan is in this together,” said Eddy.
