There are two local churches within the community of Morgan, each located in a different part of the county.
Morgan Grace Church (formerly called Morgan Grace Fellowship) is located in the city of Morgan in the storefront on 23 West 150 North. This church has been a familiar part of the town of Morgan for the past ten years and is now under the leadership of Pastor Gavin Roberts. He shares the responsibility of leadership with his brother Chase Roberts.
Morgan Grace Church hosted a Backyard Bible Club at Riverside Park in Morgan providing a fun, three-day camp during the week of July 26-28, which included free food, games, inflatable slides, as well as a Bible lesson. Many local mothers whose children attended, expressed their appreciation for these types of events, with one attendee stating that “Morgan is lucky to have them in the community!”
Morgan Valley Church is located in Mountain Green and currently meets in the building of Mountain Green Middle School at 6200 North 5000 West. This church was established in 2016 under the direction and leadership of Pastor Brent Harm.
Morgan Valley Church recently hosted its fifth annual Vacation Bible School at Kent Smith Park in Mountain Green during the week of July 11-15. This annual event always takes place the week following Independence Day and is a children’s program for children ages 5-12. This event includes craft time, a snack, a Bible lesson, games, catchy songs, and daily contests with opportunities to earn points for your team. Each year, a group of people from the ministry organization Keep Your Heart Ministry travel to the area from Virginia to assist in the operation of the program they’ve written and designed. In the evenings, the team also conducted a week-long Teen Summit for those in grades 7-12, which included competitive games, food, followed by a time of singing, then teaching from the Bible.
Although Morgan Grace Church and Morgan Valley Church are two separate churches, operating and functioning independently of the other within each of their surrounding spheres, it is clear both churches are similar in their desire to serve the community and people of Morgan.
